Getting Started + Initial Inquiry

Begin by completing the inquiry form on the Contact page, providing a brief overview of your project and the services you are seeking. If your project feels like a good fit, I’ll schedule an initial consultation. During our conversation, I’ll learn more about your goals, timeline, and what’s inspiring you to begin the project, ensuring we’re aligned.

Following the consultation, you’ll receive a tailored proposal outlining the scope, phases, anticipated timeline, and investment. After the proposal and contract signing, it's time to get started.

2

Onboarding + Research

This phase begins with onboarding, where we review in further detail the project vision/design aesthetic, review budget parameters, outline expectations, and establish how we will work together. You’ll also receive a brief set of “homework” to help clarify preferences, priorities, and practical needs.

From there, this phase establishes the strategic foundation for the entire project. Through thoughtfully designed questionnaires, focused conversations, and early planning review, I gain a clear understanding of how your space needs to function, how decisions will be made, and what priorities must be addressed before design development begins.

3

Design Development

This phase translates the approved design into clear, detailed documentation to support construction and implementation. I prepare comprehensive drawing sets and schedules that communicate design intent with precision, allowing contractors and trades to price accurately and execute with clarity.

Design documentation may include reflected ceiling plans, lighting and electrical layouts, switch plans, furniture plans, millwork drawings, plumbing plans, finishes plans, door and glass schedules, and related specifications as required by the project.

4

Finishes, Fixtures + Furniture

Happening concurrently with Design Development, this phase focuses on the thoughtful selection of interior finishes, fixtures, and furnishings that bring the design vision to life. Materials and products are curated for their aesthetic integrity, performance, and longevity, ensuring each element contributes to a cohesive and enduring result.

Selections may include flooring, wall finishes, paint colours, plumbing fixtures, decorative and architectural lighting, hardware, millwork finishes, furniture, and related elements as appropriate to the scope of work.

5

Procurement + Design Oversight

This phase focuses on the seamless coordination and execution of all approved selections. Once specifications, quantities, and timelines are confirmed, I oversee communication with vendors and suppliers to ensure every item is ordered accurately and aligned with the overall project schedule.

Procurement includes managing lead times, coordinating shipping and receiving logistics, and monitoring orders through delivery to confirm select materials, fixtures and furniture arrive on time and in proper condition.

As part of this phase, I also conduct site visits at key milestones to provide design oversight — ensuring the work on site aligns with the approved drawings, specifications, and overall design intent.

6

Installation + Project Completion

This phase brings the design to life. I oversee the placement of furnishings, fixtures, and final details to ensure every element is installed accurately and aligned with the approved design intent.

Installation includes on-site coordination, resolving any issues that arise as items arrive, and making final adjustments so that the space comes together as a cohesive, considered whole.

The result is a finished environment that reflects the original vision and supports how you live.

FAQ'S

How long does the design process take?

NEW BUILDS:  10–12+ months

LARGE RENOVATIONS:  6–10+ months

Timelines differ depending on the size and complexity of the project. This is for design work completed before construction begins and before any work starts on site.

How do revisions work?

After each design presentation, clients are provided five business days to review the materials and submit consolidated feedback. This ensures decisions are made efficiently and the project continues to move forward.

Feedback is then incorporated into the next design iteration, allowing refinements to be made with intention and alignment to the overall vision.

There are 2 rounds of revisions included in the scope of work. Revisions outside the agreed scope or submitted beyond the review window can be accommodated as needed and are billed accordingly.

How much are your services going to cost?

Interior design is inherently bespoke, as no two projects are alike. Once I have a clear understanding of your goals, expectations for the final outcome, and the scope of work required for each space, I prepare a tailored design fee based on the overall square footage and complexity of the project.

To ensure the level of attention and depth of service my projects require, I accept projects with a minimum design investment of $5,000.

Curious about which pricing method I use and why? Check out the 'Pricing Methods Explained' document for more detail.

What if I don't have a contractor lined up?

That’s perfectly fine. I’m often engaged early to establish the overall vision, define scope, and develop documentation that supports informed decisions before construction begins.

If helpful, I can recommend trusted architects, and builders with whom I have worked with successfully, allowing you to help assemble a strong, aligned project team.

When can you get started on my project?

From our initial consultation to the signing of the contract, the process typically takes about 3-4 weeks, depending on how quickly we can communicate. After the contract is finalized, I will schedule your project for the next available time slot. The start date will depend on my current workload, the size and scope of your project, and, if applicable, the schedule of other trades or the general contractor involved.

This could be anywhere from a few months out, up to a year or two.
